President Trump permits Huawei and restarts the US-China trade talks

Huawei is one of the top company in China and it is the world’s No. 1 telecom supplier and No. 2 phone manufacturer. Yet it was banned in the US by President Trump for the national security reason.

US President Donald Trump and China’s President Xi Jinping reached an agreement at the G20 summit in Japan. Trump said he eased restrictions on China’s most prominent technology company ‘Huawei’ as part of a trade truce with Beijing, removing an immediate threat looming over the global economy and even to maintain peace.

Mr. Trump also said the US companies will continue to sell to the Chinese company Huawei, and also Chinese President Xi Jinping had promised to buy “tremendous” amounts of US agricultural products in exchange.

“We’re going to give them a list of things we’d like them to buy,” Trump said at a news conference following the Group of 20 summits in Osaka, Japan, and also he confirmed that Washington would not be adding the additional tariffs and that he would continue to negotiate with Beijing for the time being.

And at a subsequent press conference, the US president declared that US technology companies could again sell to China’s Huawei – effectively reversing a ban imposed last month by the US commerce department.
