Redmi Note 9 Pro Max

Pros of Redmi Note 9 Pro Max:

The first advantage to a buyer would surely be the snapdragon 720G Processor, which handles the mobile quite efficiently. A quad-camera setup with a 64MP primary camera. This camera does take some cool pictures. The 5020 mAh battery supports good usage to the mobile and gives a good standby time. With all the features the pricing of this phone is done well and seems to be affordable and a good option to buyers looking for a smartphone at INR 15,000.

Drawbacks:

Redmi Note 9 Pro Max has an IPS full HD+ display, which seems to be good with a refresh rate of 60Hz. But Xiaomi could have gone for a refresh rate of 90Hz for the existing IPS display or the best feature would be a SAMOLED display. The Powerful camera setup is very efficient in taking pictures but it seems to pop out of the back panel. Thus making the use of an external back case a compulsion.

This mobile seems to be bulky with a weight of 210 gm and makes it quite difficult to use the mobile phone single-handedly. Also, the processor is a slight downgrade compared to the other models of Xiaomi like the Redmi Note 8 Pro. Which comes with an Helio G90T Processor, that supports high graphic games. And Sony IMX 686 Sensor could have been used as the back camera sensor instead of the Samsung GW2 Sensor.

  • The fingerprint sensor is fast and senses instantly.
  • Snapdragon 720G Processor gives a good gaming experience. Games with average graphics can be played like clockwork.
  • The 5020 mAh battery gives a better battery output and almost takes 70 minutes to charge fully.
  • This phone has also a good design which seems to be enticing.

Why Max?

The major difference between the two Note 9 Variants is the camera setup, RAM option available, and the pricing. The Note 9 Pro model has a 48MP rear Quad camera setup while the Note 9 Pro Max Model has a powerful 64MP setup. The basic variant of the Note 8 Pro comes with 4GB RAM while that of the other model comes with 6GB RAM. The basic variant of the Pro model is Priced at INR 13,000 and the Pro Max model is Priced at INR 15,000. The tag “MAX” seems to be justified with the use of these powerful features.

Buy or Not?

The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max does justify its price and gives a good experience for users, who seem to use a mobile phone for gaming and other additional services moderately. It is a good option available for a buyer at a price range of INR 15,000 with some cool specifications and features like the powerful Snapdragon 720G processor, a 64MP Quad rear camera setup and a 5020 mAh battery.

But keeping in mind the downgrade of the processor and the lack of a SAMOLED display, a buyer may find other good options available in the market. POCO X2 can still be considered a dominating competition.
