How to take Screenshot on a Windows Computer / Laptop

In smartphones, you can take a screenshot by long-pressing the “Volume Down + Power button”, whereas, in Windows computers and laptops, there are two different methods to capture the screen.

You can take / Capture screenshot in Windows by py pressing “PrtScn”.

Print Screen is the full form of PrtScn, in some keyboards, this button is also named as PrtScr SysRq which means “Print Screen System Request”.

Step by Step procedure to Take Screenshot in Windows

First, go to the location that you want to capture.

Don’t worry, you can capture the specific area of the screen by using the Snipping Tool.

The snipping tool is a pre-installed application of Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10.

To capture the specific area of the screen, go to Start -> type Snipping Tool -> and hit Enter.

When you open the Snipping Tool, it will show a dialog window with three options(New, Cancel, and Options).

Now you have to click on the New button.

after clicking the New button, the background will become semi-transparent. you can mark/select the area which you want to capture.

To do that, click and drag with the mouse. While dragging the cursor, the marked area becomes clear.
